The River Hike:
The property is 14 acres, and takes up an entire canyon. We were told by "old timers" that, in the 1920's people would stop at this location for a picnic and refreshment on their way to Mineral King on their horses . It is the only place in the 23 mile road that the road is shaded by a canopy of oak trees.
We recently opened a path from the cabins to the East Fork of the Kaweah River. It is a fairly rigorous 15 minute hike, but well worth the trip to see the narrow canyons and raging (in the springtime) river. The river flows all year.
You will have this whole place to yourself. Only the guests at the cabins have access.
This is an ideal place for a picnic.
Deep pool in the East Fork. Pool at bottom (Spring).
View from hike on way down. Bridge about 1/2 mile up.
Nice to walk up to.
